ERLEBACHER

Martha Mayer Erlebacher was born in Jersey City, New Jersey in 1937. She studied at Gettysburg College, Pennsylvania, 1955 1956, and at the Pratt Institute, New York, where she received her Bachelor's degree in 1960. In 1967 at The Other Gallery, Philadelphia, she presented her first solo exhibition. Since that time, the artist has had numerous solo exhibitions at the Robert Schoelkopf Gallery and the Fischbach Gallery in New York; and the Koplin Gallery in Santa Monica. Group exhibitions have included the Arkansas Art Center; the Bayly Art Museum, University of Virginia; the American Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters, New York; and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Her paintings are held in the collections of the Yale University Art Gallery; the Cleveland Museum of Art; the Philadelphia Museum of Art; the Fogg Museum of Art, Harvard University; and the Library of Congress, Washington, D.C. Erlebacher currently lives and works in Philadelphia.
